BACKGROUND

Launched in 1994 by journalist Ron Mader, the Planeta.com website spotlights conscientious travel and ecotourism around the globe.

One of the most popular and respected sites on the Web, these pages are read over a half million times each month. More than 1,500 subscribers receive the Planeta Update and more than 400 people are registered for our forum.

SEEKING PARTNERS

This website offers a number of partnership options:

1) INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT - Planeta requests support for core operating costs. In exchange for financial support, we offer a wide range of banner space, sponsored links and credits. Rates: $5,000-$100,000/year

2) SECTIONAL SUPPORT - Planeta has developed exclusive resource guides that are reader favorites. Examples include the Forest Resource Guide, Latin American Media Project and a dozen other niche topics. Rates: $2,000-$50,000/year

4) RESEARCH/TRAVEL GRANTS - Among long-time contributors to the site, we have top-notch journalists who can expand the coverage of such pertinent issues as community-based sustainable tourism, regional health and park management. Missing - grants for independent travel and research. Rates: $1,000-$20,000 per grant or stipend

5) TECHNOLOGY FUNDING - Many Planeta writers use older computers with troublesome Internet access. Even at our domain hub, we find it difficult to keep up with ever-changing software versions and hardware compatibility. Rates: $1,000-$100,000/year. Donations of state of the art equipment are also appreciated.

6) ONLINE CONFERENCES - Over the past ten years we have hosted nearly 20 online conferences, focusing on the connections between the environment and tourism. Become a co-sponsor! Details ...

7) READER SUPPORT - Financial donations are accepted!
