Athens sprawls across the central plain of Attica, bordered by
Mount Aegaleo in the west, Mount Parnitha in the north, Mount Penteli
in the northeast, Mount Hymettus in the east and the Saronic Gulf
in the southwest.
ACCESSIBLE TRAVEL
Thanks to the 2004 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Athens ramped
up its accessibillity infrastructure. More than 1,000 wheelchair
access ramps were installed as well as 65 kilometers of walkways
for the visually impaired. This work continues.
