HISTORY
London is the capital city of England
and the United Kingdom.
CULTURAL WORLD
Iconic landmarks include the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge,
the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and the
London Eye.
MARKETS
Farmers markets are becoming more popular. The labour and green
candidates to Mayor of London are pushing a lot to open new markets
in the various London Boroughs, trying to reduce the thousands of
miles goods travel across Europe.
Borough
Market is London's oldest wholesale fruit and vegetable market.
It was established on the south bank of the Thames when the Romans
built the first London Bridge. Come early and bring a large, strong
bag. Opening times for the public are Thursdays 11am-5pm, Fridays,
12pm-6pm and Saturdays 9am-4pm.
London farmers markets
is a small company that exists to provide Londoners with fresh local
food, and to provide farmers with a good return for their work.
Producers come from within 100 miles and must raise, grow or bake
everything they sell.
PARKS
London has many beautiful city parks.
