METRO

Mexico City's Metro is open everyday. Hours: Monday-Friday 5am-midnight; Saturdays 6am-1am; Sundays and holidays, 7am-midnight. Each of the nine lines is color-coded and each station has a unique symbol (similar in design to archaeological glyphs). For example, Metro Moctezuma is represented with a plumed headdress. There's a map of the metro system at every station.

TAXIS

The familiar green Volkswagon bugs (bochos) are being painted over in gold and crimson. It is easy to catch a taxi at a number of 'sitios' throughout the city. Note there is an additional tariff between 10pm-5am.

As a security measure when taking a taxicab off the street, make sure the driver's ID is visible and that the taximeter is working properly.

BUS STATIONS

Mexico City has four major bus terminals, some of which duplicate routes. All of the stations have restaurants and magazine stands. Most have money exchange services and luggage storage.
