PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY

The photovoltaic (PV) business is expanding, and two trends dominate this market in Mexico -- the continuing development of low-tech options and an increase in state-of-the-art technology.

SLOW FOOD

Solar ovens are a low-tech and inexpensive technologies to harness the sun's energy. Basically a reflector covered with tin foil, the oven proves to be a user-friendly alternative to "speed cooking."

While it takes several hours to capture the heat, a meal can be cooked inexpensively without the use of fossil fuels or burning a log.
