MEXICO -- The extensive archaeological site of Lambityeco is a must-visit near Oaxaca City.

HISTORY

Archaeologists say that the city reached its peak during the decline of Monte Albán (600-750AD). The human characters are among the most sophisticated sculptures unearthed in the valley. The residents were producers and exporters of salt extracted from the Saladio River.

LOCATION -- Lambityeco is 31 kilometers (14 miles) northeast of Oaxaca City.

TRANSPORTATION --

ACCESS - The site charges the standard INAH admission fees. It is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
