INFO -- The state tourism office, SECTUR
Oaxaca, at Murguía #206 is open. There is also a visitor's
info desk inside the Oaxacan
Painters' Museum, across from the Alameda
Park.
The city tourism office's new location in 2008 is Hidalgo #1415.
Sources of information include local newspapers
and magazines and the monthly tourist paper Go
Oaxaca.
POST OFFICE -- The main post office is located
at the corner of Calle Independencia and the Alameda
Park, across from the Cathedral.
CHANGING MONEY -- There are several casas de cambio near
the Zócalo.
Banks usually have ATM machines.

The Oaxaca Lending
Library is located at Pino Suárez #519, one block south
of Llano
Park. Library hours: Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm and 4-7pm. Saturdays
10am-1pm.
WELTE
The Welte Institute
for Oaxacan Studies is located at Emilio Carranza #203 in Colonia
Reforma. The library is free and open to the public from 10:00 am
until 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.The library houses the most
comprehensive and accessible bibliographic collection in Oaxaca
on Oaxaca. There are more than 10,000 titles in English, Spanish
and other languages.
MAILING LIST -- The Welte Institute hosts an email
listserve. Welte's Ronald Waterbury asks that subscribers include
a short bio with relevant affiliations as well as any research interests
