| Guyana lies on the North Atlantic
Coast of South America and is bordered to the east by Suriname,
to the south and southwest by Brazil and to the west by Venezuela.
The name Guyana is an indigenous word meaning 'Land of Many
Waters.' This country is on the northern edge of the Amazon
Basin. The country boasts more than 300 waterfalls, including
the 700-foot Kaieteur.
