Fort Wayne is a city in northeast Indiana
and the county seat of Allen County.
HISTORY
Fort Wayne is named after General Anthony Wayne. The United
States Army built a series of forts near Kekionga, the largest
of all Miami villages.
NATURAL WORLD
The city is located where the Saint Joseph River and Saint
Marys River join to form the Maumee River.
Fort Wayne is called 'Summit City' as it was the highpoint
of the Wabash and Erie Canals. Perhaps the time has come to
consider a more relevant, modern nickhame argues Tracy
