Buzzword Bingo: Open Journalism

FLICKR ALBUM: Planeta

Developed by Ron Mader in 1994 as a reporter's notebook, Planeta.com pioneered online reporting on ecotourism and conscious travel around the globe.

We spotlight what is local across the globe. Since we began we have emphasized the need for decentralizing communication by encouraging engagement - active participation and reciprocity among our readers, including locals and visitors.

Our award-winning site is geared toward conscious travelers, hosts and everyone inbetween seeking practical suggestions in the realm of eco-friendly, people-friendly and place-friendly travel. We are keen on engaging and deepening conversations that bring people together via local travel movements.

In 2012 we're embracing the notion of open journalism, a collaborative approach to news. What would you like to see here? How would you like to collaborate?

Explore the site and if you get lost, consult the search engine. The link is on the left side of every page.
