Announcement/Anuncio:

On Tuesday, March 7, 2000, Planeta.com will host an internet workshop/round-table discussion for ecotourism professionals working in Mexico. The workshop will be led by Planeta.com webhost Ron Mader and will be presented in Spanish. This meeting is open to the public, particularly travel agents, researchers, journalists and environmentalists .

The meeting takes place in one block north of the Cathedral in the heart of the Centro Historico at Lafoel Internet Service, Donceles 80 (on the corner with Brasil). More of a computer training center than a traditional cybercafe, Lafoel caters to tourists -- 99% of its clientele, most of whom are simply attracted by the large banner on the first floor announcing "EMAIL ACCESS!" The closest metros are Zocalo and Allende.

Those interested in continuing discussions at lunch will be invited to decide where to go after the workshop. Hopefully, a short tour of the brand new youth hostels -- two were innaugurated in the Centro this week -- can be arranged.

The cost for the workshop is 100 pesos to be paid at the door. These funds pay for internet access and a portion will be donated to AMTAVE, Mexico's national ecotourism association.
