| Transitions Abroad unveiled a new
travel
writing section. The editors of the new travel writing section
on Transitions Abroad write: "successful travel writers
point to the books that inspired them, moved them, made them
laugh, or made a place come alive."
They asked if I would submit a list of my Top
10 Favorite travel books. This task was more difficult than
I imagined it would be. Inventorying favorites, I came up with
more than 20.
Among the candidates for #11 are Northern Mexico Handbook,
Oaxaca Handbook, Adventures in the Yucatan, Rethinking Tourism
and Ecotopia. I would also like to include Brad Martin's self-published
guide to Honduras. There are so many!
