Planeta.com has launched a new collective photo gallery on
Flickr as part of our endeavor to simplify the use of Web
2.0 tools as a means to enhance our appreciation of responsible
travel and ecotourism.
The Re-Imagining
North American Ecotourism group features pictures of environmental
conservation, outdoor recreation and ecotourism in North
America.

Planeta.com, the global journal of practical ecotourism.
BACKGROUND
In order to facilitate networking of professionals working
to improve ecotourism in North America, Planeta.com hosted
the 2000 Re-Imagining
North America Ecotourism Conference. This was Planeta's
first formal e-conference (see index).
Since 1994 Planeta.com has documented the ecotourism work
throughout North
America -- the three NAFTA countries (Canada,
Mexico and
the United States)
and the rest of the continent, including Central
America and the Caribbean.
The development of the new photo gallery is the latest in
our work to facilitate environmental education, research and
professional networking.
DEFINITIONS
One of the most powerful tools of Web
2.0 is the Flickr photo site. What is Web 2.0? Simply,
it is the second generation of web-based services that emphasize
participant contribution (user generated content), online
collaboration and sharing among users.
