Planeta.com invites photographers
to share photos of eco-friendly food and city parks as part
of this year's celebration of Earth Day. Think globally, act locally, respond personally. Earth
Day celebrations take place around the world between March
21 and April 22.
"We recommend celebrating Earth Day every day of the year,"
said Planeta.com founder Ron Mader.

EARTH DAY
Earth
Day celebrations take place in March and April. Two celebrations
are better than one!
APRIL 22 - U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson, one
of the founders of the April 22 Earth Day, introduced the idea
to then President John F Kennedy in the early 1960s. Earth Day
proved extremely popular in the United States and around the
world.
MARCH 21 - The United Nations marks Earth Day
each year on the vernal
equinox (March 21). This Earth Day was founded by John McConnell,
a newspaper publisher and the designer of the Earth Flag.
