Ireland and Greenbox
have published the Ecotourism
Handbook for Ireland. The guide is aimed at tourism professionals
in Ireland and discusses the ecotourism market, business planning
for ecotourism businesses, funding, marketing and taking the
fear out of ecotourism.
"Fáiltre Ireland has long held the belief that
the future sustainability of our tourism industry depends on
the extend to which we protect the credibility of our clean
green image," writes Failtre Ireland's Shaun Quinn in the
foreward to the book.
The publication was financed in part by the European Union.
It is currently available in print and soon to be accessible
online.
Planeta.com's Ron Mader is a big fan of the Handbook. "This
publication sets a standard for cross-sector collaboration that
brings together environmental and tourism leaders. Ireland
is well served when professionals work toward making all tourism
operations greener. Ecotourism can provide a win-win situation
for locals and visitors alike and this Handbook is already one
of our favorite books of the year."
