| Jeju, South
Korea hosts this year's World
Conservation Congress September 6-15.
Held every four years, the IUCN
Congress is the world's largest and most important conservation
event. It aims to improve how our natural environment is managed
for human, social and economic development.
Key word for the event: resilience!
Planeta.com will keep
track of the conversation with recommended readings and an updated
wiki. This could be the year for the Social Web World Conservation
Congress as the event
has its own Facebook
page, YouTube
Playlist and a Twitter hashtag: #iucn2012.
(Hang
on, what's a hashtag?!)
As a member of the IUCN's Tourism
and Protected Areas Specialist Group (TAPAS) Planeta.com
will focus particular attention on the congress sessions within
the IUCN objective of consensus building and moving toward action.
