Magazine co-host Indigenous Peoples Week
August 6-12, 2012, our second entray into storytelling illuminating
Indigenous
Peoples and tourism around the virtual campire, aka the
social web.
Our circle of conversation includes indigenous and non-indigenous
peoples around the world. Everyone's invited and participation
is free.
This online unconference
is a mix of real-time conversations and asyrchonous communication.
Much of this online and we encourage the creation and participation
in events in the natural world.
Talking points include biodiversity conservation, crafts, cultural
heritage, food and literacy (traditional reading and writing
and digital literacy -- the emerging read
write culture).
Everyone is encouraged to document and curate indigenous tourism
using Social Web to share stories of starting up, collaborating and
developing new initiatives.
Friends remind us that if the status quo is not good enough,
we must propose alternatives. Show us a future we can literally
share.
PARTNERS AND SPONSORS
We welcome additional partners and sponsors willing to lead
by example. Financial support is most welcome and can be used
to recruit more visitors for indigenous tourism services and
upgrade digital literacy skills among those offering indigenous
tourism options.
