March 6-8 the ITB
Berlin Convention took place and we kept an eye on the happenings
via the Twitter hashtags #ITB2013
and #itbberlin.
Highlights will be retweeted via #rtyear2013.
Responsible travel was high on the agenda with multiple events
and a can-do attitude from event partner Blue Yonder (see
video).
One of many highlights: Tired of academic definitions of Responsible
Travel, Zainab Kakal designed the A-Z lexicon of Responsible
Travel in a fun and interactive way. From 'Authentic' to 'Zest',
she explains how each word helps in creating innovative travel
experiences. Following up on her research with travellers from
Western Europe to developing countries like India, Mariska van
Gaalen presents perspective of travellers on how they respond
to some of the themes introduced in the A-Z series. Absolutely
brilliant. More info on Facebook.
Our questions:
How much of the event was be livestreamed?
Will questions/comments from virtual participants be embedded
in the event?
Do organizers have suggestions for virtual participation and
networking?
Are presentations available on Slideshare?
Can we access the documents mentioned?
Are there volunteer editors who would like to help update Planeta's
Who's Who
in German-Speaking Europe?
Our Wishlist
We would love to see more innovative use of Google docs for
real-time transcription as we saw during NetHui.
More stories please!
Slideshare
Speaking of storytelling,
we will be updating our relevant features, starting with Storytelling
Now! Also, we'll be updating our overview of Engaging
Events.
