El Planeta Platica is a quarterly journal
aimed at conscientious travelers interested in Latin America. Stories feature travel and environmental information (sometimes intersecting in the field
called "ecotourism." YBusinesses and foundations should consider sponsoring these pages; consult the
Rate Card.
Index: November 1995
The November 1995 issue focuses on recent publications - environmental travel guidebooks,
green business and the U.S.-Mexico border. In addition, ecotourism itself is reviewed by
Carol Cespedes, Dominic Cardea and Derek Parent. The Tropical Conservation Newsbureau
provides their usual top quality stories from Central America, and for Internet browsers,
you can access reports on the Rio Grande, Mexican Environmental Impact Statements and
Venezuelan ecotourism.
This site has the ability to provide a wealth of information on travel providers,
sustainable development projects and environmental news from the Americas. I look forward to your
feedback, and after you peruse this issue, take time to answer the Question of the Issue:
- Can top-down and grassroots ecotourism efforts assist one another or are they
always in conflict?
Como siempre, I appreciate your interest, your questions and your support.
Saludos, Ron
