ANTARCTICA

Antarctica is the southernmost continent and includes the South Pole. On average, it is the coldest, driest, and windiest continent and has the highest average elevation of all the continents.

Antarctica is the only continent on earth where humans' first dwellings still stand. Remarkably these still remain, but are at significant risk of loss. The little known but iconic buildings and their collection are immensely significant in the history of Antarctica.

IMPROVING OUR COVERAGE

To improve our Polar Spotllight, we ask the following questions:

What are trusted sources of information?
Are there maps of protected areas?
What current work deserves kudos?

Editorial suggestions are welcome.
