| FYI --
This document is part of our popular Web
Seminar. As such, it is always a work in progress and we welcome helpful editorial suggestions. If Planeta.com can assist you, please consider making a financial donation or organizing a webinar.
MAKING CONTACT -- Email
sent to Planeta may be published. If you don't want that to
happen, just let us know. Requests for anonymity will be honored.
(Email Tips) |
| The well-known adage 'a picture is worth a
thousand words' may be underestimating the challenge at hand.
This section of our seminar
looks at examples of posting photos and videos online. We also
peek at digital cameras.

TIP: PRACTICAL PHOTOSHOP
If you are preparing photos for printed media (books, magazines,
etc.) use photos with 300DPI. For Web use, 70 DPI is fine.
For printed materials, choose Photoshop EPS and then CMYK EPS.

TROUBLESHOOTING: SENDING PHOTOS
VIA EMAIL
Make sure that the person you are sending a picture wants to
receive a picture AND that you have both worked out any potential
technical glitches. One common problem is the inability to determine
the type of a picture, particularly across the Mac-Pc divide.
|
|
| This can be fixed easily enough, but if you
don't check ahead of time, a non-readable (or seeable) attachment
simply frustrates the receiver.
One quick word about sending photos via email. When in doubt,
remember the caveat from our discussion about email
-- do NOT send unsolicited photographs. |
