US national parks deserve kudos for making the most of live, unscripted videos. Check out the list of parks on Periscope!

Today — On August 22 National Park Service sites across the country will begin the week’s celebration of the service’s centennial by using Facebook Live to explore innovation, one park at a time. This ‘virtual park circuit’ starts and ends at the Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York City.

How this Works:

The Find Your Park / Virtual Park Circuit was streamed live from Facebook from specific park pages featured below.

Every five minutes from 3pm-6pm EDT (12pm-3pm PT), a new national park unit broadcast live from their site. Each park will in turn tag the next one in the series and the circuit will be completed with a return to Brooklyn for the last live post.

How you can be engaged:

Follow the event on Facebook and Twitter using #NPS100.

You can also start ‘liking’ the parks from the table below.

Questions

Is there a single page to watch or does one have to click individual Facebook pages?

Will anyone be editing highlights?

Are any of the parks personnel attending next week’s World Conservation Congress in Hawai’i?

Can any of the parks name check local guides and businesses that cater to responsible, conscious ecotourism?

When is the next Virtual Park Circuit?
