About the event
Organized by The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) and hosted by Travel Portland and Travel Oregon, the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference (ESTC) (September 8-11) brought together more than 500 business leaders, tourism professionals and community stakeholders in North America.
The CBD Secretariat has partnered with TIES to host the 2010 Indigenous Tourism and Biodiversity Website Award ceremony and ITBW Web 2.0 Workshop. Planeta.com will be a featured media partner during the event and Ron Mader will receive TIES 2010 Innovation Award!
On Wednesday, September 8 Global Perspective Workshop: Biodiversity and Our Lives highlight global initiatives around the International Year of Biodiversity. This free workshop (open to the public) will feature key examples of wildlife conservation, environmental education and awareness-raising efforts relevant to travelers and the tourism industry alike.
On Thursday September 9 TIES Innovation Award, 1pm-1:30pm

On Friday September 10 Biodiversity Awards reception takes place from 6-7pm.
