Laos is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia.

Of the country’s 237,000 square kilometers, about 70% of the country is mountainous. The highest peak, Phou Bia reaches 2,817 meters // 9,242 feet. Other geographic features include the Xieng Khouang and Bolavens Plateau and the Mekong River Valley which forms part of the boundary with Thailand.
