Oaxaca City, Mexico – 2020 was the 123rd iteration of the annual Noche de Rábanos, aka Radish Night, which takes place on Sunday, December 23. This year was mostly virtual Hashtag: #NocheDeRábanos

One of the most impressive community celebrations in the world, it is a favorite of locals and visitors. Consider the pageantry a mashup of agriculture and folk art.

What’s new in 2020?

No radishes. In fact, the field was plowed under. Sedapa decided to suspend the harvest, with the veggies to be used as fertilizer to enrich the land in an organic process called bioperforation. (Suspenden actividades relativas a la «Noche de Rábanos»)
