The chain’s lamplighter was also updated to the “Earthlight Room” on the space station, a Howard Johnson’s lounge for passengers taking the Moon shuttle. In the scene where the Russian scientists share a drink with Dr. Floyd, it is shown that the restaurant chain servicing the space station is Howard Johnson’s. The chain featured a 2001 tie-in in its children’s menu.
